Dear Candidate
We want great things for North East Lincolnshire. Our remarkable journey started four years ago and resulted in a successful rating of two stars and improving well. We are making progress but this is nowhere near where we want to be, but there is no doubt we are poised for a real leap forward. Our approach has not been to go for quick fixes or superficial hits, but to establish a sound infrastructure of financial stability and sustainable service improvement which is now paying dividends in giving us a sense of justifiable excitement for what we can achieve during the next stage of our development.
The Council’s strong and stable joint political leadership has driven our recovery and we benefit from open, respectful member/officer relationships, making the Council a really good place to work. Now more outward looking, we also enjoy real unity of purpose across organisations and sectors, drawn together by our strongly led, well focused and lively LSP. Working closely together, and with Tony in post as Chief Executive, we have reviewed our corporate management team structure and are refocusing around the three themes of our community strategy:
- Quality of life for individuals
- Safe, strong and sustainable communities
- Economic development and regeneration
And this is where we hope you come in, as prospective applicants, to provide inspired and determined leadership. Our promise to you is that a move here is one you won’t regret. North East Lincolnshire comprises Grimsby with its proud history and heritage, the resurgent and award winning coastal resort of Cleethorpes, one of the biggest ports in the country, Immingham, and a host of attractive villages which are hidden gems. There’s plenty to do, plenty to enjoy, and house prices represent exceptional value.
